If Aphex Twin weren't so forever clever he might have ended up like El Paso's Dosage, whose experimental electronica showcases the importance--or at least the value--of being earnest. The former hard-core guitarist creates unapologetically pretty, nearly New Age patches, then splices them with crisp beats.
